My experience is that in MCR tournaments only Russian players can win.
Will that be the samen in RCR tournaments?

The Russian Mahjong Federation started the MCR Marathon.
In fact, the MCR Marathon on Mahjong Time was played only by Russian Team for about 4-5 years. As a result, many Russian players are competing in the current MCR Marathon, and this fact may give you an impression that Russian players win more games than players from other countries. However, if you look at the MCR Marathon scores page http://mahjongtime.com/mahjong-official-tournaments.aspx?tab=6, you can see that the top 20 positions hold players from at least five countries.
I can't tell if there will be as many Russian Players in the Riichi Marathon as we have in the MCR Marathon. But one thing is certain, the outcome of the game you play on Mahjong Time has nothing to do with the country you reside in.
