Welcome to the MCR Mahjong Marathon 2024
We're excited to announce the return of the MCR Mahjong Marathon, building on the remarkable achievements of our events since 2016. This year-long face-off is split into five thrilling seasons, drawing competitors globally to battle under the Mahjong Competition Rules (MCR).
Annually, we're delighted to greet over 1,100 enthusiasts from 40 nations. As we uphold this legacy, we're eager to see new and returning faces in 2024.

Special Season Bonus Prizes
The stakes are higher this season with an extra $150 bonus prize, increasing the total prize pool to $300. To win, secure the top spot in any season and share a screenshot or video of your victory on major social media platforms one week before the season ends. Fear not if you don't clinch first place; runners-up have a shot at the bonus prize too. Gear up for an exhilarating race!

Scoring Method
Season Winners: Convert table scores into Table Points (TP):
- First Place - 4 TP
- Second Place - 2 TP
- Third Place - 1 TP
- Fourth Place - 0 TP
Calculate Score = (Average TP + Average TP Best 10 Games) / 2
Final Ranking = 1000 * (N - P) / (N - 1), where N is the total players with at least 4 games, and P is your position.
The overall marathon victor is determined by the highest Rank Points from the best 4 of 5 seasons.
Resolving Ties
In event of a tie, precedence goes to the player with the highest sum from their top ten consecutive games. Should a tie persist, the player with more marathon games played takes precedence. If players tie in table points and hands won, points are evenly split.
Game and Player Disqualification
Tables with absent players for 100+ moves will be disqualified, and players repeatedly absent may face temporary or permanent bans from future games and tournaments.
Tournament Organizers reserve the right to enforce disqualifications and bans to maintain the integrity of the competition.
Exiting and Penalties
Leaving a Marathon Table for another game? Finish your current table first. Participants absent for over 100 moves in the first two rounds may face up to two 72-hour suspensions. Three absences lead to season-long disqualification.
Mahjong Time holds the discretion to disqualify players from future events for any reason.
